2023 Bench & Bar® Conference In-Person Health and Safety Protocols
In view of the continued impact of COVID-19 and its variants on large social gatherings, the Federal Circuit Bar Association® is requiring that all 2023 Bench & Bar® Conference in-person attendees be fully vaccinated.  

2023 Bench & Bar® Conference Cancellation & Substitution Policy
FCBA Cancellation & Substitution Policy: All cancellations and substitutions must be submitted to Shelly O’Neill via email at oneill@fedcirbar.org. 

In-Person Registrations – FCBA Members: Cancellations requested by FCBA Members on or before May 1, 2023 will receive a refund, less a $100 USD administration fee.  Cancellation refund requests received from May 2, 2023 to June 14, 2023, will be considered; any cancellation refund request granted during this time will be subject to a $100 USD administration fee.  No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

In-Person Registration – Non-Members: Cancellations requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member on or before May 1, 2023 will receive a refund less their new FCBA membership dues that were included in the registration fee and a $100 USD administration fee.  Cancellation refund requests received from May 2, 2023 to June 14, 2023 will be considered; any cancellation refund request granted during this time will be subject to a $100 USD administration fee and the respective new FCBA membership dues.  No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

Virtual Registrations – FCBA Member:
FCBA Regular Members, FCBA Small Firm Members or FCBA Young Lawyer Members:
Cancellation refund requests received on or before June 14, 2023 will receive a refund, less a $100 administration fee. No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

FCBA Government Members, FCBA Educator Members, or FCBA Retired Members: Cancellation refund requests received on or before June 14, 2023 will receive a refund, less $25 administration fee. No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

Virtual Registrations – Non-Member:
Non-Member: Private Practitioners, Small Firm or Young Lawyer: Cancellation refunds requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member Private Practitioner, Non-Member Small Firm or Non-Member Young Lawyer on or before June 14, 2023 will receive a refund less their new FCBA membership dues that were included in their registration fee and a $100 administration fee.  No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

Non-Member: Government, Educator, or Retired: Cancellation refunds requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member Government, Non-Member Educator or Non-Member Retired on or before June 14, 2023 will receive a refund less their FCBA membership dues that were included in their registration fee and a $25 administration fee.  No cancellation refunds will be issued after June 14, 2023.

Transition from In-Person Registration to Virtual Registration: Transition requests from In-Person to Virtual Registration, received on or before June 1, 2023, will be accepted.  The difference in the registration fee will be refunded less a $100 administration fee and any FCBA membership dues associated with the original transaction.

Transition from Virtual Registration to In-Person Registration: Transition requests from Virtual to In-Person Registration received on or before June 14, 2023, will be accepted.  The attendee will be responsible for remitting the difference in the registration cost.  Lodging at the Broadmoor is not guaranteed for late transitions from Virtual Registration to In-Person Registration.

Substitution Policy: In the event, a registrant is unable to attend the 2023 Bench & Bar® Conference — either in-person or virtually — substitution requests, submitted on or before June 14, 2023, will be accepted, and will not be subject to an administrative fee. 
  • Substitution requests for in-person attendance submitted after June 14, 2023, will be subject to a $100 administrative fee.   
  • Substitution requests for virtual attendance submitted after June 14, 2023, will be subject to a $25 administrative fee.   
  • FCBA Memberships included with registration are non-transferable.  A substitute who is not already an FCBA member will need to remit payment for FCBA membership as part of the registration process.
Consent to Use Your Image, Likeness, and Written Materials: By participating in the 2023 Bench & Bar® Conference, as either a speaker or as an attendee, you agree to grant permission to the Federal Circuit Bar Association® Charitable and Educational Fund (FCBA), as part of its educational mission, to use and distribute (both now and in the future) your voice and image in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes for use in the Association’s educational, marketing, and communications materials. You also agree, certain limited, non‐exclusive rights in your speaker presentation and written materials, as listed below. All rights not specifically granted to FCBA are reserved to you. If you are not the author of your written materials, you agree to gain written permission to use such materials from the author by the written material deadline set forth below:
  • The right and license to reproduce, distribute, transmit (including but not limited to FCBA’s website), and sell any written materials submitted in connection with your speaker presentation at the Conference, whether alone or as part of a course book, or in any other form of publication (including electronic publication), which is done under the auspices of FCBA.
  • The right and license in directing the right to sub‐license others to duplicate, transmit, distribute, and sell copies of your speaker presentation delivered at the Conference in transcript form, or in any and all sound and visual media, throughout the world.
  • The right to use your name, persona, voice, likeness, and your speaker presentation and/or written materials in connection with the 2023 Bench & Bar® Conference.
