Our Commitment to Health and Safety

The Federal Circuit Bar Association® remains committed to maintaining a healthy experience for our in-person Bench & Bar® Conference attendees, and we carefully monitor federal, state, local, public, and hotel/venue health and safety policies regarding COVID-19 regulations, guidance, and recommendations. In a continued effort to protect the well-being of our registered in-person attendees, we have established the following on-site health and safety protocols. Our health and safety plan will be updated with further details as necessary, and we will communicate any updates to our attendees in a timely manner. 

2022 Bench & Bar® Conference In-Person Health and Safety Protocols:
•    In view of the continued impact of COVID-19 and its variants on large social gatherings, the Federal Circuit Bar Association® is requiring that all 2022 Bench & Bar® Conference in-person attendees be fully vaccinated.  
•    The Federal Circuit Bar Association® is requiring that all 2022 Bench & Bar® Conference in-person attendees wear KN95, KF94 pr M95 protective masks during the event, except while dining, or presenting. Cloth masks, surgical mask, and gaiters are not acceptable facial coverings; however, individuals may choose to wear cloth masks over the required protective masks at the Conference.
•    The Sea Island Resort is proactively taking steps to help protect all guests. For more information regarding the Sea Island Resort’s health and safety guidelines, please visit their website here.
•    We will make hand sanitizers readily available at the Bench & Bar® Conference Registration desk, and throughout the Sea Island Resort.

 
2022 Bench & Bar® Conference Cancellation & Substitution Policy

FCBA Cancellation & Substitution PolicyAll cancellations and substitutions must be submitted to Shelly O’Neill via email at oneill@fedcirbar.org

In-Person Registrations – FCBA Members: Cancellations requested by FCBA Members on or before May 13, 2022 will receive a refund, less a $100 USD administration fee. From May 14, 2022 to June 8, 2022, refund cancellation requests will be considered.  Any cancellation refund request granted during this time will be subject to a $100 USD administrative fee.  From June 9, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

In-Person Registration – Non-Members: Cancellations requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member on or before May 13, 2022 will receive a refund less their new FCBA membership fee that was included in the registration fee and the $100 USD administration fee.  From May 14, 2022 to June 8, 2022, refund cancellation requests will be considered.  Any cancellation refund request granted during this time will be subject to a $100 USD administrative fee and the respective new FCBA membership.  From June 9, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

Virtual Registrations – FCBA Member:
FCBA Regular Members, FCBA Small Firm Members or FCBA Young Lawyer Members: Cancellation requests received on or before June 8, 2022 will receive a refund, less a $100 administration fee. From June 9, 2022 to June 15, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

FCBA Government Members, FCBA Educator Members, or FCBA Retired Members: Cancellation requests received on or before June 8, 2022 will receive a refund, less $25 admin fee. From June 9, 2022 to June 15, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

Virtual Registrations – Non-Member:
Non-Member: Private Practitioners, Small Firm or Young LawyerCancellations requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member Private Practitioner, Non-Member Small Firm or Non-Member Young Lawyer on or before June 8, 2022 will receive a refund less their new FCBA membership fee that was included in the registration fee and the $100 administration fee.  From June 9, 2022 to June 15, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

Non-Member: Government, Educator, Retired:
Cancellations requested by attendees who registered as a Non-Member Government, Non-Member Educator or Non-Member Retired on or before June 8, 2022 will receive a refund less their FCBA membership fee that was included in the registration fee and the $25 administration fee.  From June 9, 2022 to June 15, 2022, no refunds will be issued for any cancellation requests.

Transition from In-Person Registration to Virtual Registration: Transition requests from In-Person to Virtual Registration, received on or before May 13, 2022, will be accepted. The difference in the registration fee will be refunded.

Transition from Virtual Registration to In-Person Registration: Transition requests from Virtual to In-Person Registration, received on or before May 13, 2022, will be accepted. The attendee will be responsible for remitting the difference in the registration cost.

Substitutions: In the event a registrant is unable to attend the Bench & Bar® Conference — either in-person or virtually — substitutions will be accepted until June 9, 2022. Substitutions are not subject to an administrative fee.


Consent to Use Your Image, Likeness, and Written MaterialsBy participating in the 2022 Bench & Bar® Conference, as either a speaker or as an attendee, you agree to grant permission to the Federal Circuit Bar Association® Charitable and Educational Fund (FCBA), as part of its educational mission, to use and distribute (both now and in the future) your voice and image in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes for use in the Association’s educational, marketing, and communications materials. You also agree, certain limited, non‐exclusive rights in your speaker presentation and written materials, as listed below. All rights not specifically granted to FCBA are reserved to you. If you are not the author of your written materials, you agree to gain written permission to use such materials from the author by the written material deadline set forth below:
  • The right and license to reproduce, distribute, transmit (including but not limited to FCBA’s website) and sell any written materials submitted in connection with your speaker presentation at the Conference, whether alone or as part of a course book, or in any other form of publication (including electronic publication), which is done under the auspices of FCBA.
  • The right and license in directing the right to sub‐license others to duplicate, transmit, distribute, and sell copies of your speaker presentation delivered at the Conference in transcript form, or in any and all sound and visual media, throughout the world.
  • The right to use your name, persona, voice, likeness, and your speaker presentation and/or written materials in connection with the 2022 Bench & Bar® Conference.
